Beach Pics

We went to the beach today! Nick has to go back to work for realsies Monday, so we wanted to hit the last of the fun stuff before that damn boat sucks the life out of him some more.  We (he) rented a kayak on the way, and he somehow ended up having ALL three big kids in there.

Until Scott jumped out.  He was the one without a lifejacket.  But before you call child services, don't forget the water at Gab Gab is about nineteen inches deep.
Scott did not enjoy the kayak as much as you'd think.  Nick took the big bigs out one at a time later, and he said Scott was getting freaked out and saying "We're too far from the land!" Such a cautious kid, until you hand him something electronic.  Then he's willing to go at it with a fork.  Sigh.

This is what my little Junebug was doing while the big kids were having fun with their Daddy.

Check out these rolls...
I mean, can you BELIEVE those things?!?! It's like on Cinderella when that fat little mouse Gus Gus puts his shirt on, and then it rolls up over his belly.  Like me when I was pregnant.  What a fatty.

Then she crawled to the edge of the blanket and began eating dirt, grass, and pine needles.  Double sigh.

Then Nick took her in the water so I could read.  Triple sigh.  Still trudging through book four of Game of Thrones.  Don't be turned off the series, it's still BEST BOOK EVER, but it's just that I've been reading for three thousand pages straight and I'm getting a little overwhelmed.  So, still read them.  But maybe take a break.  Read one, read something else, read two, read something else, and so on and so forth.

What was I talking about? Oh, Daisy in the water.

Then Scott wanted his picture taken.  He's sort of obsessed.  It's not that he really wants his picture taken, he just wants to see himself on the screen when it's done.  Which I guess is the same thing, I don't know.

Now, this shot below? Kind of a stupid look for Daisy, but the actual PICTURE? That's what I thought it was going to be like when I got this new lens.  I thought ALL my shots would come out like this.  Apparently a new lens isn't the same thing as learning how to be a professional photographer.  Who knew? It's like when I lost all my Scott weight and I was so excited to buy a pair of Seven jeans and I went to the MacArthur mall and tried on a bunch of them and they all fit horribly and sucked.  They were NOT magical.  It was a hard day.

And here's one more random picture.
I'm so glad I finally got another girl.  Honestly, I know you're supposed to say "I don't care if it's a boy or a girl as long as it's healthy" but ya'll know THIS blogger NEVER said that.  I wanted a girl EVERY SINGLE TIME.  And honestly, if Daisy hadn't been a girl, I would have tried at least once more, maybe even twice.  I'm sorry, but whatever, it is what it is.  And now I finally have my girlS and I couldn't be happier.  Seriously. I might have tried three or four more times.

Thank God Daisy was a girl.
