The Graduations

The week we left for the Big Island, Ava graduated kindergarten and Scott graduated preschool.  It was neat, but it was nothing like last year's tear fest.  Not even close.  I don't know if it was because we barely knew these teachers or what.  It was nice, don't get me wrong.  Just not like last year.

Now, she was having a BLAST.  So what's with the melancholy face?

Here's her whole class, with the amazing Ms. Menor.  I love that lady.  I put in a request for Scott to have her, but apparently you're not really allowed to ask for a teacher.  Whatever, I figured it couldn't hurt.  I just really liked her.  I like a strict teacher :)

Being the terrible mother that I am, Laura got Nick a lei to give to Ava after the ceremony.  Thanks Laura!!!

And then Wednesday was Scott's.

His sweet teachers, Miss Joanne and Miss Paula.  Can I tell you right quick, I ordered everyone those tumblers with the straws as part of their teacher gift, and I ordered JoannA instead of JoannE!!! Can you believe that? I'm sort of pissed, because I spelled it both ways in the instructions.  So, the Etsy seller should have contacted me and asked which one I meant, don't you think? I would have!! So I ordered her another one, but the preschool is basically boarded up for the summer.  So I have no idea how to get it to her, other than to wait until Warren starts in August...

I couldn't decide if I liked the color or the black and white better.  So I put on both.

But now Nick is home.  Today was Summer Day Six and it didn't go well.  I just didn't do anything.  Not a single thing.  My alarm went off to work out, but I just sort of said, fuck that, and went back to sleep.  So that threw my entire morning off.  And my friend Libby came over for coffee, so I wanted to wait for her to start the Nectar of Life, so I literally just sat in the recliner staring at the blank tv screen until nine.  My mother comes in two days, I wanted to clean the bathrooms, vacuum the stairs, wash towels and workout clothes, and organize one of the four shelves in my closet.

I did not do a single thing.  Oh, I threw away all the garbage in the craft tub.  Does that count?

Summer is not for the feint of heart ya'll.  After I get my pics from the zoo yesterday uploaded, I'll tell you that super fun story.

Not for the feint of heart at all.
