Finish It Up Friday

I've sort of finished up a LOT since the last time I took stock, and it's only been like a month!! That must be bc I'm such a badass.  Or bc I just really love watching Supernatural and the best place to watch it where everyone will leave me alone is in my craft room.  WHICHEVER.

First up is a teeshirt quilt I made for a friend here.  It wasn't my favorite project because let's face it, tee shirts aren't exactly as gorgeous as Katarina Roccella fabric, but the friend seems to like it enough.

I used this grid to lay it out, and then this tutorial to stabilize the stretchy teeshirt fabric.  I had to change up the grid quite a bit to fit the shirts she gave me, and I had a lot of blanks that I filled in with  a few rectangles of Robert Kaufman's mammoth flannel and some kona solids.  I didn't take any pics of the back, but it's this flannel and I gotta say, it gives my go-to minky a run for its money as far as gorgeous snuggleupness.  I used a sheet for batting and quilted it in straight lines, sort of mimicking the idea of flannel for spacing.

I'm still addicted to sock knitting.  No idea why I love it so much, but I'm gonna take advantage while I can.  Going from this...

to this....
is so fricking satisfying.

I will say that I get sort of bored. I like to have two going at once (not on the same needles, I'm not brave enough to try that yet...) but I don't like to have them as a pair. I like to work on two different socks.  Which is fun for the working part, but then I end up with....not a pair.

So then I have to make two more before I get a pair.  But then I get two pairs, so that's cool?

Anyway. The short ones are Mara Catherine Bryner's free Rose City Rollers, which have become my absolute favorite thing to work on, and the taller one is Erica Lueder's free Hermione's Everyday Socks, which is fun enough, but one of the rows is K1, P1, K2 and for some reason I absolutely LOATHE that row.  So weird.  And for all these socks I've been using the (not free but only a dollar) Fish Lips Kiss Heel by Sox Therapist.

And lastly, a triangley-pouchy-costmetic-baggy thing.

I plan on doing a tutorial bc I had a terrible time finding help making this!!! Mostly bc I don't know what it's called.  I have an old Vera Bradley cosmetic bag, and that's what I wanted, so I went from there.
I'm going to use this for shower stuff when we go camping, so I lined it with an old laminated cotton placemat.  Work with what you got, right? I love it!! Love it.  But like I said, I plan on doing a tutorial bc I had such a terrible time trying to figure it out!! Just gotta think of what to call it so anyone else who's looking can find it easier...
